Important Questions to ask when trading Boxing DVD's

1. What is the Quality of the Video.
Each Fight should be rated for quality and content.  Just because the fight is on DVD does not mean the Quality is DVD Quality. The video may have been transferred incorrectly, or the original video may have been from poor video source. Quality for a DVD is dependent on the Video Source, and the Video bit rate settings on the DVD. A DVD that has more that 120 minutes of video on a DVD will require more compression, and therefore quality will suffer. No more than 24 rounds, or 115 minutes of video should be on a DVD.
2. What is the Layout of the Menus.
The reason why DVD's are so popular is because of the the options you get when viewing video. Menus are important to easily choose which video you would like to view, And chapter points are used to easliy Navigate to each specified point in the video. Lets say you want to watch Round 9 of Gatti vs. Ward I, it would be a pain to have to hold the Fast Foreward button to scan to round "9". If the DVD contained a menu that chaptered the beginning of each round, then going through the menu to find round 9 would be easy.
3. What brand of DVD media is used.
Not all DVD media is made the same. There are only a few DVD media brands that have the highest compatibility, and the best overall quality. Media Brands such as TDK,Verbatim(Datalife PLUS), and Maxell are considered the Best media. The cheaper brands have been known to breakdown faster, and become unplayable in the less than a year. It would be upsetting to have purchased a DVD set, just to find out the DVD's no longer work after 1 year.
4.  Who is the trader you are trading with.
As with any trade, know your trader. Do they have references/Feedbacks? Do they answer your e-mails?
5. Request a Sample DVD, before making a trade.
Any trader that stands behind his video will gladly furnish a free sample DVD to anyone who requests it. Remember that quality is in the eye of the beholder. For example, A trader says the Quality of a Tyson fight is 9.0 out of 10, when in reality the video is a 7.0 out of 10 to you. Quality video is extremely hard to find.  This is the reason rating each fight for quality is important. Requesting a sample DVD will allow you to gauge what the traders quality ratings are on the other DVD's.

I Proudly Capture, Edit, and Author all my DVD's!
I am one the few Boxing DVD traders that take pride in every aspect of the DVD conversion process. I first carefully go through hours of tape to select the best video to be captured to DVD. Once I have the Tape or other source, I use a Video capture computer to capture the Raw video to a digital format. Once I have captured the video, and have determined that there were no Dropped frames, I then Edit the video. Editing consists of taking out unwanted scenes or  putting in special effects, titles etc. After the Editing is complete, I convert the video file to a DVD compliant file(Mpeg2). After a few hours the video file is ready for authoring. This consists of creating menus, chapter points, background pictures, background music, etc. After the Authoring is complete the DVD is ready for Testing. I Burn a test copy onto a DVD-RW or cheaper DVD-R disc. Once I have viewed the DVD on a TV, and the DVD has passed our video quality check, it is ready for a high quality DVD-R disc . And once burned, I view the DVD in a couple DVD players for compatibility. Then its ready for your viewing.

My Custom Menus are protected under the intent-to-use with the Patent and trademark office. Therefore any copying or use of our custom menus except for the private and personal use in strictly prohibited.
